Welcome to WeGo Taxi! These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of our taxi booking services in Sri Lanka. By making a booking or using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using WeGo Taxi's services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions, as well as our Privacy Policy and Refund & Cancellation Policy.
2. Use of Website
2.1 Eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years old to make bookings on our website
- Minors (under 18) must have parental/guardian consent to use our services
- You agree to provide accurate and current information during registration and booking
2.2 Account Security
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
- You agree not to use our website for any unlawful or unauthorized purposes
- You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
3. Service Description
WeGo Taxi provides:
- Point-to-point taxi transportation services within Sri Lanka
- Airport transfers, city tours, and day trips
- Online booking and payment facilities via PayHere.lk
- Professional drivers and well-maintained vehicles
- Customer support via WhatsApp and email
4. Booking and Reservations
4.1 Booking Process
- All bookings must be made through our official website or authorized channels
- You must provide accurate and complete information when making a booking
- A booking is confirmed only when you receive a confirmation email with a booking reference number
- Booking reference numbers must be kept safe and presented when required
4.2 Booking Modifications
- Modifications to confirmed bookings must be requested at least 24 hours before scheduled pickup
- Changes are subject to vehicle availability and may incur additional charges

4.3 Cancellation Policy
- Cancellations made 24+ hours before pickup: Full refund (excluding service charges)
- Cancellations made less than 2 hours before pickup: No refund
- No-shows: No refund and service charges will apply
5. Pricing and Payment
5.1 Pricing Information
- All prices are quoted in USD or LKR as displayed at the time of booking
- Prices include base fare and distance charges as shown in the booking summary
- We strive to provide accurate pricing but do not guarantee absolute accuracy
- Prices are subject to change without prior notice, but confirmed bookings are honored at the quoted price
- Additional charges may apply for extra stops, waiting time, highway tolls, or special requests
5.2 Payment Methods
- Online Payment: Credit/debit card payments via PayHere.lk (secure payment gateway)
- Cash Payment: Pay directly to the driver at the end of the journey
- By placing an order, you authorize us to charge the total amount to your chosen payment method
- We use trusted third-party payment processor (PayHere.lk) for secure transactions
- We do not store or have access to your full payment card details
5.3 Service Charges and Taxes
💳 Payment Terms:
- Service charges and taxes are included in the final booking amount
- Service charges are non-refundable - you will be responsible for paying service charges even if you cancel
- Taxes are calculated based on Sri Lankan tax regulations
- The refund amount (if applicable) will exclude service charges incurred during purchase
- Payment processing fees charged by PayHere.lk are non-refundable
5.4 Additional Charges
- Paging board service: $5 USD (optional, non-refundable once prepared)
- Waiting time: Charged after 15 minutes of scheduled pickup time
- Extra stops: May incur additional distance charges
- Highway tolls: Customer responsibility (if applicable)
6. Customer Responsibilities
6.1 Passenger Conduct
Customers must:
- Be ready at the pickup location at the scheduled time
- Treat drivers and vehicles with respect
- Not consume alcohol or illegal substances in the vehicle
- Not smoke in the vehicle
- Not carry illegal, dangerous, or prohibited items
- Ensure luggage does not exceed vehicle capacity
- Keep the vehicle clean and report any damages immediately
6.2 Contact Information
- Provide accurate contact details including working phone number and email
- Ensure phone is accessible during pickup time
- Respond to driver communication promptly
7. Refunds and Exchanges
7.1 Refund Process
- Once we receive your refund request, we will notify you of the status within 24 hours
- If approved, refund will be initiated to your original payment method
- Refund amount will exclude service charges and taxes incurred during purchase
- Refunds are processed within 5 business days after approval
- Bank processing time may vary (typically 5-10 additional business days)
7.2 Exchanges
- To exchange your ride for a different ride, tour, or excursion, contact us within 24 hours of purchase
- We will provide instructions on how to proceed with the exchange
- Exchange availability is subject to vehicle availability
7.3 Non-Refundable Items
- Two hours before your ride starts, you cannot get a refund
- Service charges are non-refundable in all cases
- Payment processing fees are non-refundable
- Taxes cannot be refunded
- Paging board fees (if service was prepared)
8. Liability and Insurance
8.1 Our Liability
- WeGo Taxi carries comprehensive vehicle insurance for all trips
- We are not liable for delays due to traffic, weather, or force majeure events
- We are not responsible for lost or damaged personal belongings left in vehicles
- We do not guarantee flight connections or third-party commitments
8.2 Limitation of Liability
In no event shall WeGo Taxi, its directors, employees, or affiliates be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of or in connection with your use of our website or the purchase and use of our services.
We make no warranties or representations, express or implied, regarding the quality, accuracy, or suitability of the services offered on our website.
9. Intellectual Property
- All content and materials on our website, including text, images, logos, and graphics, are protected by intellectual property rights
- All content is the property of WeGo Taxi or its licensors
- You may not use, reproduce, distribute, or modify any content without our prior written consent
- WeGo Taxi and associated logos are trademarks of WeGo Taxi Services

- It is your responsibility to review these Terms periodically
- Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance

12. Force Majeure
WeGo Taxi is not liable for failure to perform services due to circumstances beyond our control, including but not limited to:
- Natural disasters (floods, earthquakes, storms)
- Civil unrest, strikes, or political instability
- Government restrictions or curfews
- Road closures or impassable conditions
- Pandemics or public health emergencies
13. Governing Law and Disputes
- These Terms are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka
- Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of Sri Lankan courts
- Complaints must be submitted within 48 hours of service completion
- We will investigate complaints within 2-3 business days
14. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
15. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Refund & Cancellation Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and WeGo Taxi.
